What is PUBG Mobile Light?

PUBG Mobile Light is a new app from Krafton. It runs the real PUBG Mobile, packaged small for phones that are tight on storage or power.

It isn’t the old PUBG Mobile Lite, and it isn’t a cut-down game. Same battleground, same account, just a lighter install. Read the full explainer.

Release date and pre-registration

Pre-registration opened August 25, 2026 on Google Play and the App Store and is open now. November 2026 is the launch window reported across coverage of Krafton’s announcement, though an exact day hasn’t been named.

The App Store listing goes further than the coverage does: it shows an expected release date of November 12, 2026. Apple marks that as expected rather than confirmed, and Google Play shows no date, so treat it as the most specific figure available rather than a promise. See the full release date breakdown.

How to pre-register now that it’s open:

  1. Open Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iPhone).
  2. Search PUBG Mobile Light.
  3. Open the official listing from Krafton or Level Infinite.
  4. Tap Pre-register on Android, or Get on iOS.
  5. It downloads automatically at launch.

See the latest on the release date page, or see the download guide and system requirements.

Also essential: how to pre-register (open since August 25, 2026), is it available in your country, and PUBG Mobile Light vs BGMI Lite if you’re in India.

What we check ourselves

Most coverage of an unreleased game repeats the same press release. We open the store listings and read what they actually say. Some of what we’ve found isn’t reported anywhere else.

  • The launch date is 12 November 2026. Apple’s listing carries it as an expected release date. Most outlets still report only November. See the release date page.
  • It isn’t listed in 7 of the 53 countries we tested, including India, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. The other 46 all show that same date. See the country breakdown.
  • The Android publisher is Level Infinite, not Krafton. BGMI Lite shows KRAFTON, Inc. That difference is a quick way to tell a real listing from a fake. See the download guide.
  • PUBG Mobile Lite was never shut down worldwide. That is a widely repeated error. It still runs outside India, and the 2021 global shutdown was PUBG Lite for PC, a different product. See Light vs Lite.

Where something is unconfirmed we say so instead of filling the gap with a guess. Krafton hasn’t announced a launch day, there are no official system requirements, and there’s no official APK. We update these pages when that changes.
