Pre-registration is open now on both Google Play and the App Store. It costs nothing, it does not get you into the closed beta, and no reward tiers have been announced.

Read from the official App Store listing on 2026-09-21 12:52 UTC. Android size is the figure Krafton states publicly.
PUBG Mobile Light pre-registration opened on August 25, 2026 on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, and it’s open now. The first download is around 1 GB on Android, with Apple listing 2.5 GB on iOS. Pre-registering is free, takes one tap, and is the only safe way to get the real app the moment it goes live.
This guide covers the date, the download size, step by step instructions for Android and iPhone, what pre-registering actually does, what happens on launch day, and the questions people keep asking before launch. Where something hasn’t been confirmed by Krafton, we say so instead of filling the gap with a guess.
Pre-registration opened on 25 August. Where it stands now
It has already started. Pre-registration opened on August 25, 2026 on both Google Play and the App Store, and it’s still open. No closing date has been announced, so you can sign up any time between now and launch.
If you haven’t registered yet, you haven’t missed anything. Pre-registration isn’t a queue and it isn’t capped. Someone who registered on day one and someone who registers the week before launch get exactly the same thing.

The App Store says 12 November 2026
November 2026 is the launch window reported across coverage of the Krafton announcement. No exact day has been named, and Krafton hasn’t put a date on the store listings.
The App Store listing itself goes further than the coverage does: it shows an expected release date of November 12, 2026. Apple marks that as expected rather than confirmed, and Google Play shows no date at all, so treat it as the most specific figure available rather than a promise. Checked 31 August 2026.
So treat any site handing you a precise launch day as guessing. Until a date appears on the store listing itself, nobody outside Krafton has one. That listing is the thing worth watching, because Google Play and the App Store display a locked release date before the news coverage catches up to it.
A closed regional beta is reported to be rolling out in selected territories, which is normally one of the last steps before a wide release. That fits a November window, but a beta doesn’t commit Krafton to a specific day.
What does pre-registering actually do?
Three things, and nothing beyond them:
- It tells the store to install the game automatically on launch day, so you’re playing while everyone else is still waiting on a download.
- It sends you a notification the moment the game goes live.
- It adds one to the sign-up total, which is the number publishers usually tie milestone rewards to.
What it doesn’t do matters just as much:
- It doesn’t reserve a username, a slot, a server or a rank.
- It doesn’t put you in the closed beta. Those are separate programmes.
- It doesn’t cost anything and it never asks for payment. On iPhone you may confirm with Face ID or your Apple ID, but the price stays zero.
- It doesn’t lock you in. You can cancel any time before launch.
The one people get wrong: does pre-registering give you early access?
No. Pre-registration is free and it doesn’t grant early access. It schedules the automatic install on launch day and notifies you when the game is live.
Registering earlier doesn’t move you up any queue either. Everyone who pre-registers gets the game at the same moment.

Pre-registering on Android, step by step
- Open the Google Play Store on your phone.
- Search for PUBG Mobile Light.
- Open the official listing. The developer must be Krafton or its official publisher, and the package should be com.tencent.igfit.
- Tap Pre-register.
- Leave automatic install switched on if Play offers it.
- Done. The game installs itself on launch day.
That’s the whole process. There’s no form, no login and no verification step. If something asks for more than one button press, you aren’t on the Play Store.
If you can’t see the Pre-register button
- You’re in India. The Light listing isn’t available there at all. India gets BGMI Lite instead, covered further down this page.
- Your region isn’t included. The rollout isn’t identical in every country, and nothing you do on your phone changes that.
- Play Store is stale. Force stop Google Play, clear its cache in app settings, reopen it and search again.
- It already says Registered. Then you’re done, and tapping again achieves nothing.
Pre-registering on iPhone, step by step
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Search for PUBG Mobile Light, or open the official App Store listing directly.
- Check the seller name on the listing before you tap anything.
- Tap Get. Apple labels the button Get even before release, so confirming reserves the app rather than buying it.
- Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple ID password.
- It downloads by itself when the game goes live.
Two things worth knowing on iOS. You aren’t being charged, even though the confirmation looks like a purchase, because the app is free. And you can review or cancel anything you’ve pre-ordered from your Apple ID account settings at any point before release.
The automatic download on release day needs free space on the device. If storage is tight when launch arrives, the download can fail quietly and you’ll have to start it yourself.
How much space you actually need to free up
Around 1 GB on Android. Apple lists the iOS build at 2.5 GB, and app thinning trims what your device actually downloads. That’s the full initial download, not a small stub that pulls the real game down afterwards.
iOS builds of the same game usually come in larger than their Android equivalents because of how the two platforms package app binaries and assets, which is why the two figures differ.
Leave yourself more free space than the download itself. Stores unpack files while installing, so the space needed during installation is higher than the finished install, and updates after launch will add to it over time. If your phone is sitting near full, clear room before launch day rather than on it.
Why the first download is so small
Because the content is modular. Light ships with what you need to play, and everything else is pulled in only when you ask for it.
The standard PUBG Mobile client carries far more in its base install, with resource packs on top of that. Light flips the arrangement around. Erangel and core combat sit inside the 1 GB package, and the additional maps and modes stay on the server until you choose to download one.
The important part: 1 GB is a smaller install, not a smaller game. Light isn’t a cut-down spin-off with fewer features, the way the old Lite was a separate product. It’s a lighter client for the same game, in the same ecosystem, with the same account and the same players.
Is there a second download before you can play?
No. There’s no forced second download before your first match. Install the roughly 1 GB package, open the game, and you can load straight into Erangel.
Everything after that is optional. Miramar, Sanhok, Team Deathmatch and Metro Royale are downloaded on demand, when and if you want them. Play only classic Erangel and your install stays close to where it started.
On a 32 GB or 64 GB phone that is the whole point. You decide what occupies your storage instead of carrying content you never open.
Which maps come with it, and which arrive later
Erangel is included in the base install. Miramar, Sanhok, Team Deathmatch and Metro Royale are downloadable on demand, so there’s no forced extra download before your first match.
| Map or mode | How you get it |
|---|---|
| Erangel | Included in the base install |
| Miramar | Downloadable on demand |
| Sanhok | Downloadable on demand |
| Team Deathmatch | Downloadable on demand |
| Metro Royale | Downloadable on demand |
Krafton hasn’t published a content roadmap beyond this, so anything else you see listed as confirmed for launch isn’t confirmed. We update this table as more is announced.
Does your existing account carry over?
Yes. Sign in with the PUBG Mobile account you already use and it works. Your owned items come with you, including outfits and other cosmetics you’ve bought.
You aren’t starting a fresh profile and you aren’t building a second inventory. This is the clearest difference from the old Lite, which ran on its own separate account with its own separate locker.
In practice, if you’ve spent money on PUBG Mobile, that spend isn’t stranded by switching. Install Light on an older or spare phone and everything you own is there.
One thing to watch on launch day: sign in with your existing account rather than creating a new one. A new profile starts empty, and sorting that out afterwards is more work than signing in properly the first time.
Can you squad with friends on the full game?
Yes. Light players and standard PUBG Mobile players share the same matchmaking, ranks and leaderboards, so you can squad with friends who are on the full client.
There’s no separate Light ladder and no separate Light player pool. You’re matched against normal-client players, and your rank is the same rank whichever client you opened.
This is worth stating plainly, because it’s the opposite of how PUBG Mobile Lite worked. Lite had its own servers, its own players and its own progression. Light doesn’t split the community at all.
It also means you can move between clients without a penalty. Play Light on your phone, play the standard client on a tablet, same account either way.
Who is this actually built for?
No. It’s built to run well on lower-end and storage-limited phones, but nothing restricts it to them and there’s no reason a flagship owner can’t install it.
Reasons people on capable phones are pre-registering anyway:
- A phone that is already full, where 1 GB fits and a much larger install doesn’t.
- A slow connection or a metered data plan, where download size decides everything.
- An old handset kept as a backup or a second device, now able to run the real game.
- Travel, where you want the game with you without giving up storage to maps you never load.
Choosing Light isn’t choosing a worse game. It’s the same game, the same account and the same matchmaking, in a smaller package.
The requirements Apple publishes, and the ones Krafton hasn’t
Krafton hasn’t published official minimum requirements for PUBG Mobile Light. Any RAM or Android version figure quoted right now is an estimate. If the Pre-register button appears on your phone, the store considers your device compatible.
That last point is the practical test, and it’s available to you today. Google Play and the App Store both filter listings by device compatibility. A listing that shows you a working Pre-register button has already checked your hardware against whatever Krafton set, which is more reliable than any spec sheet circulating online.
What is actually known:
- The game is designed for lower-end and storage-limited hardware. That’s its stated purpose.
- Storage is the one requirement you can plan for now: around 1 GB on Android and about 2.5 GB listed on iOS, plus headroom for installing and updating.
- Everything else, including minimum RAM, minimum Android version and minimum iOS version, is unpublished.
We aren’t going to add another invented number to the pile. When Krafton publishes real minimums, they’ll go here.
Does it cost anything?
Yes. Free on Google Play, free on the App Store, and free to pre-register. Nothing is charged on launch day either.
Expect the same optional in-game purchases that PUBG Mobile has, cosmetics and passes rather than anything that gates play. Nothing announced so far points to a different model.
If a site is asking you to pay for access, a key, an invite or an early build, it’s a scam. There’s nothing to buy and no version of this game that costs money to install.
Are there PUBG Mobile Light pre-registration rewards?
Krafton hasn’t announced pre-registration rewards for PUBG Mobile Light. Nothing has been published, not on the store listings and not in the announcement.
Large mobile launches often run milestone rewards, where outfits, skins or in-game currency unlock for everyone once sign-ups cross a threshold. That’s a common industry pattern, not a confirmed plan for this game.
So nobody currently knows what the rewards are, including the sites publishing exact reward tables. If you’re looking at a specific list of Light pre-registration rewards today, someone made it up.
The only useful action is to pre-register, because milestone rewards, when they happen, normally go to accounts that registered before launch. It costs nothing. We track confirmed rewards on the pre-registration rewards page and add them there as they’re announced.
What is the PUBG Mobile Light closed beta?
Alongside pre-registration, a closed regional beta is reported to be rolling out in selected territories. That comes from news coverage of Krafton’s announcement rather than the store listings, so treat the specifics as reported and not officially confirmed.
Two things follow. Pre-registering doesn’t put you in the beta, because they’re separate programmes. And there’s no public sign-up form for it, so any page collecting your email address, your phone number or your game login in exchange for beta access isn’t run by Krafton.
If a wider test opens, it’ll be announced on Krafton’s own channels and it’ll run through the official stores. Closed tests on Android go through Google Play’s own beta system, which means you join from the store listing, not from a third-party download page.
What happens on launch day after you pre-register?
On Android, Google Play installs the game automatically when it goes live, as long as automatic install is still enabled and you’ve the free space. You get a notification when it lands. If you turned automatic install off, the listing simply changes from Pre-register to Install and you tap it yourself.
On iPhone, the App Store downloads it on release day, again if there’s room. You can check or cancel a pre-order from your Apple ID account settings before then.
After that it’s four steps:
- Open the game and let the first-time setup finish.
- Sign in with your existing PUBG Mobile account rather than creating a new one, or your items won’t be there.
- Load into Erangel. No extra map download is needed to play your first match.
- Add Miramar, Sanhok, Team Deathmatch or Metro Royale later, only if you want them.
One warning for the day itself. Big launches pull in a wave of fake apps and fake launch-day download pages within hours, and search results are at their worst exactly when everyone is looking. A pre-registered install sidesteps all of that, because the game is already on your phone and you never need to go hunting for it.
Light and Lite aren’t the same game
One letter apart, two different products, and the mix-up between them is the source of most of the wrong information circulating right now.
PUBG Mobile Lite is the older game. Separate client, smaller custom maps, its own account and its own player base. It’s still live in a number of regions. The India listing returns a 404, which is why so many Indian players are convinced it shut down everywhere. It didn’t. The product that closed in 2021 was PUBG Lite for PC, which is a different thing again.
PUBG Mobile Light isn’t a revival of Lite and not its replacement. It’s a lighter client for the PUBG Mobile you already play, using the same account, the same items and the same matchmaking.
| Feature | PUBG Mobile Light (new) | PUBG Mobile Lite (older, separate) |
|---|---|---|
| Status | Pre-registration open since August 25, 2026 | Live in some regions, not available in India |
| What it is | Lighter client for PUBG Mobile | Standalone separate game |
| Account | Your PUBG Mobile account and items carry over | Its own separate account and inventory |
| Who you play with | Same matchmaking as standard PUBG Mobile | Its own player pool |
| Maps | Erangel installed, others on demand | Its own smaller maps |
| Download | Around 1 GB Android, 2.5 GB listed on iOS | Smaller, but an entirely separate install |

What about BGMI Lite pre-registration in India?
India is a separate case, and it’s the single biggest source of confusion around this launch.
PUBG Mobile Light isn’t coming to India. India runs the franchise as Battlegrounds Mobile India, and the lighter version there’s a different game called BGMI Lite, package com.krafton.bgmilite. Its pre-registration is open.
Don’t carry the November window across to BGMI Lite. That window belongs to the global PUBG Mobile Light. BGMI Lite is set to launch by the end of 2026. Two games, two schedules, two listings.
If you’re in India:
- Pre-register for BGMI Lite, not for PUBG Mobile Light.
- If the Light listing doesn’t appear in your Play Store, that is expected behaviour, not a fault with your phone or your account.
- Don’t use a VPN or a foreign store account to force the Light listing. You would be installing a client India doesn’t run, and region workarounds go against the store and game terms.

How to spot fake PUBG Mobile Light APKs and scam sites
There’s no official PUBG Mobile Light APK. The game hasn’t launched and Krafton distributes it through Google Play and the App Store only.
Every APK page for Light that exists today is one of three things: malware, an ad farm serving a file that isn’t the game, or a repackaged copy of something else. There’s no fourth possibility, because there’s no genuine file for anyone to host.
Signs the page you’re on isn’t legitimate:
- It offers an APK, an OBB file or a modded build.
- It tells you to disable Google Play Protect or to allow installs from unknown sources.
- It promises free UC, guaranteed rewards or a redeem code for pre-registering.
- It asks for your PUBG Mobile login, your player UID or your phone number before it’ll continue.
- It wants payment for early access, a key or an invite.
- It states an exact launch date that no official channel has given.
- It runs a fake progress bar, a human verification step or a survey before the download.
Real pre-registration is one tap inside the Play Store or the App Store. No form, no login, no file, no payment, no verification. Nothing legitimate connected to this game will ever ask for your account credentials outside the game itself.
Official PUBG Mobile Light store links
Pre-registration happens inside the official stores and nowhere else:
- Google Play Store listing (Android)
- Apple App Store listing (iPhone and iPad)
- The official PUBG MOBILE announcement post
Check the developer name on the listing before you tap. The Android package should read com.tencent.igfit. If the developer or the package doesn’t match, close the page. Listings vary by region, so a store link that opens for one country may not open for another.
Searching for PUBG Mobile Lite pre-registration?
If you searched for PUBG Mobile Lite pre-registration, the spelling is doing a lot of work here.
There’s no PUBG Mobile Lite pre-registration. Lite is an older game that already exists and is already live in the regions that have it, so there’s nothing to pre-register for. It isn’t launching, because it launched years ago.
The game that opened pre-registration on August 25, 2026 is PUBG Mobile Light, spelled with a G. Around 1 GB on Android, Erangel in the install, your existing PUBG Mobile account and items carried across, and the same matchmaking as the standard client.
Most people typing Lite today mean Light, so if that is you, the steps above are the ones to follow. If you did mean the older Lite, read PUBG Mobile Light vs PUBG Mobile Lite for the full comparison.
The bottom line
Pre-registration for PUBG Mobile Light opened on August 25, 2026 and is open now on Android and iOS. It’s free, it takes one tap, and it’s the safest way to get the real app the day it launches, with your existing account and items ready to go.
Confirmed: the pre-registration date, the roughly 1 GB Android download and the 2.5 GB iOS listing, Erangel in the base install with the other maps on demand, your existing account and items carrying over, and shared matchmaking with standard PUBG Mobile players. Not confirmed: the exact launch day, the system requirements and the pre-registration rewards. We aren’t going to pretend otherwise, and this page is updated as Krafton announces things.
For live updates, follow our release tracker and what PUBG Mobile Light is.
We read the official listing. No rewards are announced.
Plenty of pages promise you a list of PUBG Mobile Light pre-registration rewards. Before repeating any of that, we pulled the full official app description from Apple on 2 September 2026 and read it end to end. It runs 1,428 characters.
It mentions rewards zero times. No milestone tiers, no pre-registration bonus, no exclusive skin, no outfit, no currency. Not once. The same is true of the short store blurb.
What the description actually covers is the download model: Erangel pre-installed, no secondary download before your first match, extra maps and modes pulled in later at your own pace, and the same account, friends and updates as the main game.
So the honest position is this. Pre-registration rewards are common in this genre and Krafton has run them before, so it would be no surprise if they appear. But as of today nothing has been announced, and any site listing specific rewards right now is either guessing or describing a different game. We’ll publish the real list the moment one exists.
Pre-registering still costs nothing and takes one tap, and if rewards are added later, registering now is normally what qualifies you.
