BGMI Lite system requirements and supported devices in India

Independent site. PML Guide is a fan-run publication. We are not Krafton and we do not publish the game. Official news comes from pubgmobile.com.

Wondering if your phone will run BGMI Lite? Here’s the honest picture. Krafton India has not published official minimum requirements yet, because the game hasn’t launched. But the whole point of BGMI Lite tells you a lot about what to expect, and this page lays out a realistic guide plus what is actually confirmed.

What Krafton has confirmed about specs

Only the goal: BGMI Lite is a lighter build made to reduce device load and run on lower-end, storage-limited phones. That’s the same brief as the global PUBG Mobile Light. No minimum RAM, Android version, or download size has been officially announced for BGMI Lite. Treat any exact spec sheet circulating now as unofficial.

What to realistically expect

Because BGMI Lite mirrors the global PUBG Mobile Light, the global app’s stated numbers are the best guide we’ve until Krafton India confirms India specs:

SpecExpected (based on global Light)Confirmed for BGMI Lite?
Initial downloadAround 1 GB on Android. On iOS the global Light build measures 2.50 GB, checked 2 September 2026Not confirmed
RAMBuilt to target lower-end phones (expect 2 GB and up)Not confirmed
Storage freeA few GB, since content is modularNot confirmed
Android / iOSRecent-but-modest OS versionsNot confirmed

The word to hold onto is expected. These are reasoned estimates from the global app’s design goals, not numbers Krafton India has stated for BGMI Lite.

The realistic reference point: what full BGMI needs today

Since Krafton India has published nothing for BGMI Lite, the useful question is what the full game already demands, because that is the figure a lighter build has to come in under. We measured it against the India App Store on 2 September 2026.

  • Download size: 3.97 GB
  • Minimum OS: iOS 13.0
  • Supported devices: 127 models listed
  • Seller: KRAFTON Inc
  • First released: 17 August 2021
  • Current version: 4.5.0
  • Age rating: 12+, with 11 languages listed

To be explicit, those are BGMI figures, not BGMI Lite figures. Krafton India has published no BGMI Lite specification of any kind. Read the list as the baseline a Lite build is measured against, and nothing more.

What a Lite build actually changes, measured

There’s one place where a full game and its Lite counterpart both exist on the same store right now, which means the difference can be measured instead of guessed at. On the App Store we compared PUBG Mobile against PUBG Mobile Light on 2 September 2026.

Measured on iOSPUBG MobilePUBG Mobile Light
Download size3.98 GB2.50 GB
Minimum iOS13.013.0
Supported devices listed127127

That’s a 37 percent cut in download size and zero change to device support. Same minimum OS, same 127 device models, down to an identical list.

This is the most useful thing to understand before launch. A Lite build is a storage play, not a compatibility play. It doesn’t add a single older phone to the supported list. If your device can’t run the full game today, the lighter version isn’t what fixes that. What it fixes is an install eating several gigabytes you don’t have, and the data cost of every update after it.

If BGMI Lite follows the same pattern, expect a clearly smaller download and roughly the same device support as BGMI. That’s an informed expectation drawn from the global pair, not a Krafton India statement, and it gets replaced the moment real India numbers exist.

Why we can’t give you Android numbers yet

The comparison above is possible because the App Store publishes download size, minimum OS and a full supported-device list on every product page. Google Play doesn’t. For a listing that hasn’t launched, Play shows the publisher, the pre-register button and the content flags, and nothing about size, RAM or Android version.

We checked the live BGMI Lite listing on Google Play on 2 September 2026. What it exposes is the publisher, KRAFTON, Inc., an open pre-register button, and two flags: Contains ads and In-app purchases. That’s the complete set of facts on the page. No size, no minimum Android version, no RAM figure, no device list.

So the iOS-style comparison can’t be run for BGMI Lite, and we aren’t going to invent one. Any page quoting a BGMI Lite minimum RAM or minimum Android version today is publishing a number that exists nowhere. There’s no source for it, because Krafton India hasn’t released one.

Will BGMI Lite run on my phone?

If your phone already struggles with the full BGMI client today, BGMI Lite is the version built for you. It’s specifically aimed at budget and older devices, and at players on tight data plans who can’t afford a multi-gigabyte download and constant large updates. A modular install means you download core combat first and add extra content only if you want it.

How to prepare your device now

  • Keep at least 3 to 4 GB of storage free so the install and updates have room.
  • Update your OS to the latest version your phone supports.
  • Clear space by removing unused apps and old media.
  • Plan to download on Wi-Fi to save mobile data on the first install.

We update this when specs are official

The moment Krafton India publishes real minimum and recommended requirements for BGMI Lite, we’ll replace the estimates above with the confirmed numbers.

How to check your phone’s specs

On Android, open Settings, then About phone, to find your Android version and model, and Settings, then Storage, for free space. Some phones list RAM under About phone or in a Memory section.

On iPhone, open Settings, then General, then About for your model and iOS version, and Settings, then General, then iPhone Storage for free space.

What “low-end” actually means in India today

A large share of Indian players are on budget phones in the entry to mid range, often with 4 GB of RAM or less and limited free storage after photos, chat apps and social media. Those are exactly the devices a lighter build targets.

This is also why download size matters as much as raw performance. On a plan with limited data, a multi-gigabyte install and frequent large updates are a real barrier, and trimming that is the point of a Lite build.

How BGMI Lite should compare to full BGMI

The full BGMI client has grown steadily, and on older phones that shows up as long load times, stutter during fights and constant storage pressure. A lighter build is meant to cut the install and reduce the load on your device while keeping the core battle royale intact.

Krafton India hasn’t published BGMI Lite numbers, so there’s no confirmed size comparison yet. The global PUBG Mobile Light figure of roughly 1 GB on Android is the closest reference point we’ve, and it’s a global figure, not an India one.

How to free up space before launch

Clear cached data from large apps, remove games you no longer play, and move photos and videos to cloud storage or a computer. Chat apps are usually the biggest hidden consumer, since years of saved media accumulate quietly.

Aiming for three to four gigabytes free gives the install and its first updates room to work without you having to delete things on launch day.

Frequently asked questions

What are the BGMI Lite system requirements?

Krafton India hasn’t published official requirements yet. Based on the global PUBG Mobile Light, expect a small install and a focus on lower-end phones.

Will BGMI Lite run on a low-end phone?

Yes, that is its purpose. It’s built for budget and older devices and players on tight data plans.

How big will the BGMI Lite download be?

Not confirmed for India. For reference, we measured the global PUBG Mobile Light at 2.50 GB on iOS on 2 September 2026, against 3.98 GB for full PUBG Mobile. On Android the global figure is around 1 GB.

What phone do I need for BGMI Lite?

Budget and older phones are the target. Exact minimum RAM and OS will be confirmed when Krafton India publishes specs.

When will BGMI Lite requirements be confirmed?

Krafton India is expected to publish specs closer to launch. We’ll update this page with the official numbers.

Will BGMI Lite run on phones that can’t run BGMI?

Probably not. On iOS we measured the global PUBG Mobile Light against full PUBG Mobile on 2 September 2026. The Lite build is 37 percent smaller to download but lists the same 127 supported devices and the same minimum iOS 13.0. A Lite build saves storage, it doesn’t extend device support. Krafton India has published no BGMI Lite figures.
