India is getting its own lighter battle royale. Alongside PUBG Mobile Light globally, Krafton India has confirmed BGMI Lite, a lighter version of Battlegrounds Mobile India.

What is BGMI Lite?
It is Krafton India’s lighter take on Battlegrounds Mobile India, built for lower-end phones and smaller data plans.
Think of it as the India-specific counterpart to the global PUBG Mobile Light. Same idea: cut the download and device load, keep the core battle royale.
BGMI Lite release date
Krafton India has confirmed a launch in India by the end of 2026. No exact date yet.
BGMI Lite pre-registration
Important distinction: the August 25 pre-registration date is for the global PUBG Mobile Light, not BGMI Lite.
Krafton India has not announced a separate BGMI Lite pre-registration date. Wait for an official BGMI announcement rather than assuming the two share one.
Is there a BGMI Lite APK?
No. There is no official BGMI Lite download or APK yet, because the game has not launched.
Any “BGMI Lite APK download” out there right now is unofficial. Avoid it, it is not the real game and can carry malware or get your account banned. When it is ready, it arrives through the official store for India.
BGMI Lite vs PUBG Mobile Light
Same idea, two regions. PUBG Mobile Light is the global app; BGMI Lite is the India version, matching India’s separate Battlegrounds Mobile India branding.
Expect the same lightweight approach either way: smaller install, lower device load, core battle royale kept intact.
